And in honouring this anniversary, the following excerpt is, of course, from Pulse and Prejudice, the paranormal adaptation of the Jane Austen classic, which tells the story of Mr. Darcy, vampire.

Here, Darcy and Elizabeth are dancing at the Netherfield Ball.
You will find it differs slightly from Miss Austen's version....

http://www.colettesaucier.com/pulse-and-prejudice/    The dance brought their hands together once more, and they faced each other for a moment; but in that moment, his eyes met hers and did not release them. She was caught, frozen; unsteady on her feet, she might have fallen if Darcy had not taken her about the waist.
“Miss Bennet,” he said in a low murmur.
“I—I am sorry. I think I need some air.”
“Yes, of course.” He led her through the crush and out to the terrace. “Are you ill? May I bring you something?”
She leaned against the wall and shook her head gently. “No, I thank you. I do not know what happened. It has never happened before. Suddenly, I felt like I was…” She looked up at him with brow furrowed. “I do not know what I was feeling.”
They both seemed to realize at the same moment that his arm still wrapped around her, her bodice pressed against his ribcage, his face mere inches from hers as their breath intermingled....
