Five Random Things About Me

Image
Greetings, dear readers!              I know I have been neglecting my blog miserably for the past few months, but I have been devoting as much time as I have away from my soul-sucking day job to WRITING! As in new novels! So when Jo Lynne Valerie suggested that the featured authors for Authors After Dark (eeek! Only 3 days away!) share 5 random things about themselves, I figured even I could handle that (even though I should be packing for Charlotte!). To that end, here are five random things your might not know about me: #1:   I grew up as an only child (I found out I had a half-brother when I was 14) and - since we only had 4 TV channels and video games and VCRs didn't exist, I had to find innovative ways to entertain myself. I learned to read at an early age, and then I would play school with my collection of stuffed animals as my students. They never did very well on the tests. I would also have li...

Tantalizing Talks! Summer Edition with Stephanie Judice

Image
Good morning, dear readers! I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  If you haven't already entered for the giveaways for the Love Stories from Long Ago blog hop, the winners will be selected Monday night for the eBook and Audiobook of Pulse and Prejudice , so you still have a few more hours to leave a comment! When Stephanie contacted me after reading Alicia's Possession and asked me to participate in her Tantalizing Talks , of course I agreed.  I mean, come on!  Look how sweet and innocent she looks! Little did I know this would be one of the most challenging interviews I would face this summer!  Seriously - If my heroine were ice cream, what flavor would she be???  Challenging, yes, but also a lot of fun!  I hope you will agree. ~Colette Welcome, readers! Today, we have the fabulous Colette Saucier with her newest novel, Alicia’s Possession. Let me say first that I am not your typical suspense/romance reader. But, Alicia’s Possession has...

What Does Jennifer Simpkins Want to Know?

Image
Greetings, dear readers! The lovely romance author Jennifer Simpkins asked if I would agree to an interview for her blog this week, and I just couldn't say no - especially as she is joining me for Coffee on Tuesday! So do you want to know what she asked me? I'll give you a tiny morsel, then you can continue reading. And be sure to stop by on Tuesday when she visit me! ~Colette Interview with Colette Saucier   Today I have the very talented Colette Saucier here to answer a few questions and tell us all about her books. Jennifer: What genre do you write? Is there another genre you want to dabble in sometime in the future? Colette: I have been breaking the cardinal rule for authors by not sticking with one genre, or at least sub-genre. So far, I’ve published a Paranormal Regency Romance – Pulse and Prejudice – a Contemporary Romance – All My Tomorrows – and now with my new release Alicia’s Possession , a Romantic Suspense with (very) light bondage a...

Can't Get Enough? Authors After Dark Spotlight Interview

Image
Good morning, dear readers! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I must say, I love Depeche Mode. Violator may be one of my favorite albums of all time. That having been said, I fear I must admit, this was not love at first song. I did - and do - despise "Just Can't Get Enough." I found it annoying to the point of being insipid. As it was their first big single, I didn't think I could ever possibly change my opinion of a band that could spew such pablum. Then, of course, "Personal Jesus" changed all that. Hence, I appreciate the irony that you've probably had just about enough of me lately! With the release of Alicia's Possession , the upcoming conferences where I am a featured author, and other commitments I had made long ago without regard for scheduling, I have had a succession of guest appearances of late. Even I am tired of hearing about me! So I have at least tried to offer variety as disparate as "People Are People" and ...

Yea! It's the WEEKEND! But in all seriousness...

FINALLY it's Friday! I don't know about you, but I didn't think this week would ever end! Now I think I am caught up on all of my guest blog commitments except for an interview or two, so I may actually be able to get back to my current work in progress, another romantic suspense thriller The Widow . Of course, all of this is assuming that my laptop doesn't decide to crash on me as it has TWICE in the last three months, so I will smudge it with sage and ask everyone to send it positive thoughts and good juju. Before we get ahead of ourselves, though, allow me to tell you what I have for you today: On Austen Authors , I have an Exquisite Excerpt from Pulse and Prejudice - at least I hope you will think it is exquisite! This is one of my favourite scenes because I incorporated an actual historical event - The Grand Jubilee - into Darcy's story. Check it out here . Also, for any authors out there or anyone interested in the writing process, I...

So What Do You Want To Know?

Image
Greetings, dear readers!  Have you ever just woken up one morning and thought to yourself, "Gosh, I just really wish I knew more about that author Colette Saucier"? Well, let's just pretend you have. Tonight, I will be interviewed by Wt Prater for Write on the Edge on Blog Talk Radio (you can find all about that here ). Be warned: Wt says the show walks a fine line "between edgy and trashy," so I don't know what I've gotten myself into! ( UPDATE: Through the magic of modern technology, even if you missed the interview when it aired live, you can still hear it online.... ) In the meantime, I have been interviewed by Vision and Verse today on everything from writer's block to my favourite band! You can check that out here . By the way, although not about yours truly per se , tomorrow, Friday, July 12th,  I will have an article appear on Savvy Authors about the invisible narrator . Now be sure to check out the interview on Vision and Ver...

Scribhneoir Extraordinaire Ellie Potts Interviews ME

Image
I am honoured that Ellie Potts - the amazing author of Paranormal Romance, Fantasy, and Horror such as Blood Witch , The Unicorn and the Serpent , and Flights of Delusion - asked to interview me about writing my novel Pulse and Prejudice . She asked me about Vampire Darcy, Lord Byron, and all the pop culture references throughout the narrative. She even asked for a few pictures of me in my -eek! - Regency wear! I hope you'll take a look.... ~Colette Interview with Colette L. Saucier author of Pulse and Prejudice! I am a huge fan of Pride and Prejudice and Colette L. Saucier offers a refreshing twist on it by doing the story through Mr. Darcy's eyes. But Mr. Darcy is a vampire! What I loved about this is that the vampire is not overdone. It is there with light traces. He is not shiny or too dark. He is Mr. Darcy. I loved them sitting around talking about life and music getting more into their past that wasn't touched on. I think I caught a few pop referenc...
