Alicia's Possession Number 1 Bestselling Romantic Suspense, Number 4 Bestseller Overall!

I Am Stunned!
As frequent readers of this blog can attest, I have been quite nervous about jumping genres - not just by going into Romantic Suspense, but also by throwing in a little light bondage and Dominance to boot! That's why I am so thrilled and gratified to find that just one week after the launch party for Alicia's Possession, it is already the publisher's #1 Bestselling Romantic Suspense AND #4 Bestseller overall. It even somehow made it to the #2 Bestselling BDSM ranking! (I hope the S&M crowd won't be too terribly disappointed by its relative tameness.)

I do hope that this bodes well for my current work in progress - another Romantic Suspense entitled The Widow.  After that, I promise to return to the sequel to Pulse and Prejudice.

In the meantime, if you haven't gotten it already, Alicia's Possession is available from the Secret Cravings Publishing Store in all eBook formats (mobi for Kindle, ePub for Nook or iBook, etc.).  I would certainly lo…

Good morning, dear readers! Here is my latest release - jumping genres with a romantic suspense thriller! Also, I have stretched myself as an author by entering the world of Dominance and submission and a little light bondage - eeek!  I hope you will enjoy this new literary adventure with me! Good evening, dear readers!
Thank you for joining me for my new feature, Cocktails with Colette, which I will have on Thursday evenings now and then to introduce you to my friends who write in genres other than romance.

(If you are looking for the Doggone Blog Hop to Vote for "Amadeus" as Top Dog for charity, click here.)

Tonight I am thrilled to introduce you to an author who joins us for Happy Hour from "across the pond" (and if you've been reading my blog long enough, you know what a complete Anglophile I am and how I cannot wait to get back there!). Scott Cairns and I became acquainted because we were both selected 2013 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Semi-finalists - the final 25 out of 10,000 entries! If that tells you anything, you should know that his novel Silver should jump to the top of your TBR list! So shake yourself a martini (gently - you don't want to water it down) and hear what Scott has to tell us this evening... ~Colette

Doggone Blog Hop for Charity - Vote "Amadeus" TOP DOG!

Welcome to the Doggone Blog Hop!  Vote for "Amadeus" as TOP DOG for Charity!
This is a different kind of blog hop since we are trying to raise money - as well as awareness - for doggie charities, but we'll try to have some fun, too!  Over the next three days, for EVERY COMMENT LEFT BELOW with the words "TOP DOG," I will donate $1 to the Brown Dog Foundation, which helps fund veterinary bills for families who can't afford them. (Yes, I am shamelessly using bribery to get you to vote for my dog.) PLUS if YOU make a donation to the animal charity of your choice, email me the receipt, and I will MATCH your donation!
Also, everyone who leaves a comment below will be entered to win an eBook copy of Pulse and Prejudice - I can even inscribe it to you. You see, the only character in that novel inspired by someone in my real life is the dog Amadeus. He is modeled after my Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen (PBGV for short). You can click here to learn more about the bree…

Take a Trip Out of this World

It's the Secret Cravings Paranormal Blog Hop!
About this time last year, I came out with a little novel called Pulse and Prejudice, the paranormal adaptation of Jane Austen's classic romance, which retells the love story from the point of view of Mr. Darcy - Vampire. Let me tell you, I had no idea what I was getting myself into! The last year has been a non-stop convoy of blog posts, interviews, and public appearances. Don't get me wrong. Yes, it has been exhausting, but I am finally fulfilling my dream of being a writer. Plus Pulse and Prejudice has just come out in an incredible audiobook version, I've had two more books published, I'm hard at work on two more, and I even have an honest-to-goodness literary agent! Now if I could just figure out a way to get rid of this pesky day job...

Pulse and Prejudice took me forever and a day to research and write because I wanted every detail to be historically accurate and true to Regency language and Jane Austen. That'…

Rebecca Coleman on the Perils of Writing a Love Scene Plus COOKIES

My dear readers, thus far you have joined my guests and me for Coffee and Cocktails. Well, today we have something new for you: Cookies! Of course, this is decidedly unfair as I am still quite a distance from my weight-loss goal, but I think it's good to shock the metabolism occasionally with a splurge! Right? Good, I'm glad you're coming along with me on that. My guest today has become a dear friend just by virtue of her being so wonderfully kind and providing guidance from her wisdom and experience. So don't skip ahead to the recipe—this blog post is great! I have had this exact problem and find myself texting my daughters asking them what they and their friends call various, um, body parts.... (They have been less than helpful.) It is my honour to introduce the amazing author Rebecca Coleman. I bet she is good cook, too! ~Colette

Shooter in the Crosshairs author Rick Portier Joins Me for Cocktails

Good evening, dear readers!
Thank you for joining me for Happy Hour tonight! This is the first of a new feature I will have on Thursday evenings now and then to introduce you to my friends who write in genres other than romance. I for one adore true crime and suspense, which is why I am moving into the romantic suspense sub-genre myself, so I know I cannot be the only reader who may on occasion set aside a romance for a chilling thriller!

I am excited to introduce as my first gentleman caller Rick Portier, the author of Shooter in the Crosshairs. This novel had me hooked from page one, and I read it in two days! (Damn that soul-sucking day job...)  Ever since I read it, I've wanted him to come on my blog and give you the inside scoop (I can't believe he says I got him drunk - that makes me sound like such a bed influence!), and he finally agreed! So check out what Rick has to tell you, then be sure to add this one to the top of your TBR list! ~Colette

If I Loved You by Jean Joachim

Good morning, dear readers! Before I introduce my visitor this week on Coffee with Colette, I want to mention a new feature I will have every now and then for my gentlemen callers who do not write in the romance genre. They will be joining me for Cocktails with Colette (and if you read a double-meaning in that, then you have a naughty mind!). So I hope you will pop by this Thursday evening for my first very special guest for cocktail hour!
Now, without further ado, it is my great honour to introduce fellow Secret Cravings Publishing author Jean Joachim! She has dropped by to tell you about the first book in her new Hollywood Hearts Series, If I Loved You. More specifically, she's going to tell you about how food plays a role! Now, for anyone who has been following my diet travails on my Facebook author page, I bet you can guess which picture below has me drooling!  I'll put this one on my TBR After Diet list!  ~Colette

I refuse to admit how I know this blogger, but you will want to follow this one...

Here is a fun NEW blog for you to check out. Someone I happen to know (I plead the 5th on how) recently turned 29, and so she has begun a year-long bucket list of thirty things she wants to do before she hits the Big 3-0.  It's fun and funny, so check out her first-hand experience in this entry:  Botox!
