Take a Trip Out of this World
It's the Secret Cravings Paranormal Blog Hop!
About this time last year, I came out with a little novel called Pulse and Prejudice, the paranormal adaptation of Jane Austen's classic romance, which retells the love story from the point of view of Mr. Darcy - Vampire. Let me tell you, I had no idea what I was getting myself into! The last year has been a non-stop convoy of blog posts, interviews, and public appearances. Don't get me wrong. Yes, it has been exhausting, but I am finally fulfilling my dream of being a writer. Plus Pulse and Prejudice has just come out in an incredible audiobook version, I've had two more books published, I'm hard at work on two more, and I even have an honest-to-goodness literary agent! Now if I could just figure out a way to get rid of this pesky day job...
Pulse and Prejudice took me forever and a day to research and write because I wanted every detail to be historically accurate and true to Regency language and Jane Austen. That's why its sequel - Dearest Bloodiest Elizabeth - will likely be my last authentic historical novel! (I am planning a paranormal adaptation of Wuthering Heights, but I plan to make it steampunk to give me a lot more flexability.) Rather than giving you the blurb yet again, here is the trailer for Pulse and Prejudice.
The trailer features photographs I took myself while on my trips to London and a piece of music of significance in the novel: Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, although it wasn't called that at the time. This is one of scores (heehee) of little inside jokes I have throughout the novel because of the significance of moonlight in John Polidori's The Vampyre, which I borrowed for my vampire Darcy. (Be sure to check out the Pulse and Prejudice Pop Culture Challenge for your chance to win an iPad 4!)
Here is where I would normally have an excerpt from the novel, but Tim Campbell has done such a marvelous performance on the audiobook, I will just let him read it to you.
Today I am giving away an eBook of Pulse and Prejudice. Just leave a comment below, and don't forget to include your email address so I can contact you when you win!Now onto the hop!
