Image
Gentle Readers, I cannot deny that I am thrilled that the appearance in the October 31st edition of Entertainment Weekly has generated new interest in this award-winning paranormal adaptation of Pride and Prejudice ! I am so excited that new readers are discovering Mr. Darcy's story, written as though Jane Austen herself had always conceived the dark and brooding character as a vampire . Although the trailer for Pulse and Prejudice was featured on USAToday.com , this is the first time (as far as I know) that it has appeared in the national print media, exposing the tale of the cursed Vampire Darcy to a whole new audience two years after publication! Pulse and Prejudice is available in eBook, print, and audiobook ; and right now, ALL eBook formats are on sale for $3.99! ( Click here to find it. )  Also, for anyone in the Southeast Louisiana area, I will be signing copies of it and all my novels at the Louisiana Book Festival tomorrow, Saturday November 1st, along with fell...

It's a Miracle! Dieting Sucks, but what about noodles with no calories, carbs, fat...or taste?

Image
Greetings, dear readers! Yes, I know, it's a miracle that I am actually posting a blog! I cannot even tell you how busy the last few weeks have been. Between working 50+ hours a week at my day job, finishing up a manuscript, going to reader/author events, I have had to cut back on my social media. In fact, I am even <gasp!> missing the Saints game to get more author-y work done. Now as any of you who follow my little mini-blog on Facebook know, I am back to dieting. Again. That's the problem with doing a book tour -- food and alcohol! (At least when I'm home, I try to stick with the alcohol - in fact, I lost 26 pounds on my wine & cheese diet !) Alas, my husband cannot survive on wine & cheese alone, and he needs to lose a - ahem - few pounds himself. In fact, when he stepped on the scale, he was so distraught by how much weight he had to lose that I change the measurement to STONE so the number wouldn't be so big. Then he said, "Oh, so I only h...

The Tragic Death of Robin Williams: Warning Signs of Suicide

Image
Gentle Readers , I am sure I am not alone in my shock at the news of the death of Robin Williams. His publicist's succinct statement - "He has been battling severe depression of late" - sparks more questions in lieu of an explanation because something so seemingly random to outsiders and to those who have never struggled with depression defies comprehension. We will never know his personal demons or the "black dog" that haunted him. I ran a series of blog posts on the topic of depression last year in conjunction with Depression Awareness Month and "came out of the closet," as it were, about my own personal battle . Today I am re-posting in part 10 Signs You Should Know of the 10th Leading Cause of Death. It's possible that there was nothing anyone could have done to prevent Robin Williams' death , but knowing the warning signs might help someone you know. From October 20, 2013 Gentle Readers, Throughout the month of October, we have...

Five Random Things About Me

Image
Greetings, dear readers!              I know I have been neglecting my blog miserably for the past few months, but I have been devoting as much time as I have away from my soul-sucking day job to WRITING! As in new novels! So when Jo Lynne Valerie suggested that the featured authors for Authors After Dark (eeek! Only 3 days away!) share 5 random things about themselves, I figured even I could handle that (even though I should be packing for Charlotte!). To that end, here are five random things your might not know about me: #1:   I grew up as an only child (I found out I had a half-brother when I was 14) and - since we only had 4 TV channels and video games and VCRs didn't exist, I had to find innovative ways to entertain myself. I learned to read at an early age, and then I would play school with my collection of stuffed animals as my students. They never did very well on the tests. I would also have li...

Exclusive Excerpt from (ONCE) AGAIN by Theresa Paolo on Coffee With Colette

Image
Good morning, dear readers!   Yes, I know. I have been a really crappy blogger. I've been so neglectful, I'm surprised social services hasn't come and taken my blog away! As I mentioned the last time you joined me for Coffee , I finished writing my new novel, The Widow , and now I have waited the requisite 30 days so I can work on the second draft. It is a rather daunting task since we're talking 115,000 words! In the interim, I wrote an experimental novella (read: unpublishable),  proofed the audiobook for Alicia's Possession , went to the RT Booklovers Conference, and took care of my daughter's dog!  All this while still working my soul-sucking day job.  PLUS I have to get ready for the big party we're having this Saturday, June 28th, to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and the cheese sandwich that forever altered human history. For those of you who don't follow me on Facebook , you should know I u...

Witch's Touch with Tabitha Shay

Image
Good morning, dear readers ! Can you believe it already (almost) May??? Where is this year going? Soon we will need to switch to ICE coffee (or my personal favorite, a Mochasippi from CC's Coffee House).  This week on Coffee with Colette , fellow paranormal author Tabitha Shay is here t o tell you about her latest hot new paranormal ro mance, but whereas I write about vampires, she writes about witches! She knows how to catch my interest! One of my favorite films is Practical Magic , and I have been enthralled by witches since I was a kid, from The Wizard of Oz to Witchipoo on H.R. Pufnstuf - but they have nothing on the Winslow witches... Do you like witches? You've never seen witches like this before! Wait until you read Witch's Touch - Book SIX in her "Winslow Witches of Salem" series. Where does she find the time? I think she must have a touch of witchcraft herself! PLUS - leave a comment with your email below and YOU could win your own cop...
