Hump Day Hook #4

Welcome to the Hump Day Hook Hop for November 21, 2012!

With this blog hop, each author posts one paragraph from a WIP or finished book for all to see. Then, it would be really cool if you could visit all the writers participating and comment on their paragraph!

This paragraph is from my current work in progress, Dearest Bloodiest Elizabeth, the sequel to Pulse and Prejudice, the vampire adaptation of Jane Austen's classic love story, and occurs two months after the Darcys wedding as Elizabeth attempts to adjust to marriage to a vampire.

Elizabeth awoke the next morning and rolled over and placed her hand on the cold emptiness beside her.  She had fallen asleep in her husband’s arms after a night of passion and pleasure, only to awaken unclothed and alone.  Again. She knew this should not bother her, this most benign affectation of his condition.  After all, most husbands and wives did not share a bed.  Indeed, her husband’s bed lay on the other side of the door adjoining their chambers, although she knew he did not spend his nights there either.  Unreasonable as she knew it to be, Elizabeth wished that once – just once – she might wake up in her husband’s arms.

Love to know what you think!

Thanks for stopping by! Hop on over to the other authors' sites for their hooks.  Next up....
