100th Sunday Snog for Doctors Without Borders

Image
Good morning, dear readers! I hope you are relaxing on this lovely Sunday. Later, of course, I will be cheering for my beloved New Orleans Saints, but first I have something special and a little different for you for this Sunday snippet. I am joining Victoria Blisse and scores of other authors in the 100th Sunday Snog to raise money and awareness for Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières). For this blog hop, we will all be posting excerpts from a special kissing scene from one of our works, and in addition to offering prizes, we will be donating to Doctors Without Borders and hope that you might do the same. I think the first kiss scene of a novel can often be the most exciting part, especially if there has been a lot of tension and buildup to it; so I really didn't want to spoil the first kiss scenes of some of my novels that you might not have read.  Instead, I have a special surprise for you: A scene from my current work in progress - The Widow . This wi...

Yea! It's the WEEKEND! But in all seriousness...

Image
FINALLY it's Friday! I don't know about you, but I didn't think this week would ever end! Now I think I am caught up on all of my guest blog commitments except for an interview or two, so I may actually be able to get back to my current work in progress, another romantic suspense thriller The Widow . Of course, all of this is assuming that my laptop doesn't decide to crash on me as it has TWICE in the last three months, so I will smudge it with sage and ask everyone to send it positive thoughts and good juju. Before we get ahead of ourselves, though, allow me to tell you what I have for you today: On Austen Authors , I have an Exquisite Excerpt from Pulse and Prejudice - at least I hope you will think it is exquisite! This is one of my favourite scenes because I incorporated an actual historical event - The Grand Jubilee - into Darcy's story. Check it out here . Also, for any authors out there or anyone interested in the writing process, I...

Scribhneoir Extraordinaire Ellie Potts Interviews ME

Image
I am honoured that Ellie Potts - the amazing author of Paranormal Romance, Fantasy, and Horror such as Blood Witch , The Unicorn and the Serpent , and Flights of Delusion - asked to interview me about writing my novel Pulse and Prejudice . She asked me about Vampire Darcy, Lord Byron, and all the pop culture references throughout the narrative. She even asked for a few pictures of me in my -eek! - Regency wear! I hope you'll take a look.... ~Colette Interview with Colette L. Saucier author of Pulse and Prejudice! I am a huge fan of Pride and Prejudice and Colette L. Saucier offers a refreshing twist on it by doing the story through Mr. Darcy's eyes. But Mr. Darcy is a vampire! What I loved about this is that the vampire is not overdone. It is there with light traces. He is not shiny or too dark. He is Mr. Darcy. I loved them sitting around talking about life and music getting more into their past that wasn't touched on. I think I caught a few pop referenc...

Hump Day Hook 16

Image
Welcome to the Hump Day Hook Hop for February 20th, 2013! With this blog hop, each author posts one(ish) paragraph from a WIP or finished book for all to see and - we hope! - leave a comment. I have something new for you today: a short excerpt from a steamy romantic suspense I am writing with the working title of Lilac Lane (I'm terrible with titles). Mason is the police detective investigating a "suspicious incident" - on Lilac Lane - reported by Alicia, who is dealing with some major trust issues....        Mason laid a soft kiss on her mouth, tugging her bottom lip gently between h is teeth. He lifted his face just enough to look at her. In time, he could teach her to trust again, at least to trust him, but it would take patience and perseverance. He thought she might be worth the effort.      “If you want me to stop, ” he told her , “ if you really mean it, say ‘apple.’”      A licia furrowed her brow ...
